Phenomenal resort, from staff to food!

Everything. Staff were friendly, food was great and there was great variety. The resort offered something for everyone (as an adult only resort). Would definitely recommend. As pescetarians we had no people with the food options.

We were there for a special birthday. The staff couldn’t do enough to help us celebrate. Free room upgrade, champagne to the room and a birthday cake. The resort is spotless, staff friendly some remember your name! Highly recommend.

Stunning hotel, the beach was incredible with the amazing blue water. The food and activities included were great, especially the extra restaurants you could book into. 10/10

Light broke in the bathroom however staff offered a change of room and late check out so we didn't mind

Overall a very pleasant stay and staff were excellent.

We were very impressed with the restaurants, especially the buffet. The beach was excellent. In fact, we could not fault the facilities. We were impressed with the gala dinner, not only the food but the staff put in the extra mile with the setting up of tables and decorations.

We got irritated with the noisy music in the evenings. It was difficult to find a quiet spot. It was often a problem getting a golf cart, very necessary in the hot weather. There is a need to control the crows.

Christmas holiday at Riu Palace

This year we spent our Christmas vacation at the Riu Palace Zanzibar Hotel. It was already our second Christmas holiday in this hotel. I would like to thank you for the wonderful days spent in this hotel. Where to start? From the beach (beautiful clean beach, great service of beach boys and security), bar and restaurant staff very nice, attentive. Yohana always greeted us in the main restaurant with a nice smile (we thank him for always a nice welcome). Food quality very good. A mix of Indian, Italian and international cuisine. In my opinion, the rooms are beautiful, stylish, always beautifully cleaned and smelling :-) Every day before going to bed, they prepare your room again. At sunset, have a drink at the Ginger bar by the pool and take photos. Unforgettable! Special thanks to the Assistant General Manager Mr. Ghosh. An excellent person not only as a personality, but also from a professional point of view. Always available and willing to help. Thank you

Our stay at the Riu was just amazing. I have nothing to say but highly recommend

The extraordinarily warm welcome of the staff (Fatima, Rashid, Sadick to name a few), ensuring the quality of the service down to the smallest details. The variety and quality of the food. The white sand and cleanliness of the beach are among many other things I really liked

A very hot, but relaxing break in lush resort

Room was lovely and spacious. We were four and there was plenty of space. Buffets were varied and tasty. Staff were lovely. Beach was lovely and a good option instead of the pool.

We thought there could have been a little more variety and quality in the alcoholic beverages. Specifically cocktails. Service was slow at times but seems to pick up when you tip?? The specialty restaurant wasn’t amazing. Don’t be too Disappointed if you miss out on making a reservation. Could have had some more varied activities during the day. Really pleased that you can use the facilities when you arrive and when you leave and there are shower/changing facilities on the day of departure!! This is a saviour!

6 days in Paradise

Beautiful, comfortable, well organised resort. Huge and very well equipped room. Great food. Very good service. Nice Paradise-like white sand beach. Great entertainment program. We are most thankful to Dijana and Orisbel who were extremely attentive to any our request and made our stay so memorable. Special thanks to Mr Hamadi for his personal attention. The best memories of Zanzibar guaranteed!

Long waiting time for club car at checkout. Beach towels were not always easy to get in the afternoon - they seem to run out fast.

Attention to detail is amazing. The gardens are like a botanic wonder. The beaches are the best we’ve seen outside of Durban. Staff are superb especially Narayan at restaurant who went out of his way to prepare a special meal. Everyone is so willing to help make your stay comfortable. Our pool villa was nice and secluded with a heated pool and a dream of a sunset view.

Water pressure was at times low in the villa. That’s about it

Awesome

The food was really good, the beach was exceptional, the beverages selection was nice. The staff was all welcoming, nice and helpful.

The only thing that was not as it should be in a 5 star hotel was the mold in the room (which was understandable as the humidity was really high), but still they have to clean it before the guests arrive.

Amazing

One word to describe this Place: Paradise. Everything you need is available on the resort (gym, spa, beach, steam room, Jacuzzi, variety of restaurants, live entertainment, 3pools (catering for everyone, those who like activities and those who just want to relax) 1. I have traveled the world, but never have I seen such friendly staff as these. The staff knew our names. Whenever I went to the restaurant without my wife they would ask where is your wife by name. Every meal we had the staff made a huge effort to chat to us about the meal, not just as a courtesy. The staff went an extra mile to cater for us on valentines day. 2. The bed was comfortable, best sleep ever and yes we stayed at the side where there are mosquito nets as other reviews would say. 3. Boy oh boy was there a variety of food. The amount of drinks there. 4. The massage was amazing. 5. The beach is great, all the facilities are available. We will definitely be back

The place is very far from stone town. If you want to be touring, this is not the place to be as transport is very expensive. But perfect for relaxing.
